No—Forza Horizon 6 is not currently included with Xbox Game Pass Essential or Game Pass Premium. As checked in the US on August 1, 2026, the Standard Edition is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. FH6 did launch day one with Game Pass on May 19, 2026, but “day one” did not mean every plan. Xbox named Ultimate and PC Game Pass for launch access. Subscription access is also not permanent ownership, and it does not automatically include the game’s Premium Edition content.
Which Game Pass plans include Forza Horizon 6 right now?
Only Ultimate and PC Game Pass currently include the FH6 base game. Essential and Premium can cover other benefits, including online console multiplayer, but they do not provide the Standard Edition catalog license.

Why Essential does not unlock FH6
A paid game license and online multiplayer access are different entitlements. Essential can satisfy the online console multiplayer requirement after you own FH6, but it does not currently give you the game itself. That is why an Essential member may see a Buy button rather than Install.
If you only have Essential, do not buy an FH6 add-on or Premium Upgrade expecting it to supply the base game. Purchase Standard Edition or use Ultimate/PC Game Pass first.
The Store also says a purchased copy can be cloud played with Essential or Premium. Treat that as a bring-your-own-game option with device and region limits—not as a hidden catalog inclusion. If you do not own FH6, the simplest Xbox subscription route is Ultimate.
Is FH6 on Game Pass Premium yet?
No. On August 1, 2026, both the Xbox Store and our current FH6 record list Ultimate and PC Game Pass, not Premium. A Premium member must buy the game or upgrade to Ultimate for included Xbox access.
Xbox’s general plan comparison says select new Xbox-published games may join Premium within 12 months, but that wording is not a title-specific FH6 announcement. It does not establish a guaranteed date, and it does not justify promising that FH6 will appear on Premium by a particular month. There is also no announced Essential addition to report.
Was Forza Horizon 6 a day-one Game Pass game?
Yes. Xbox Wire listed Forza Horizon 6 as available on May 19, 2026 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, the same date as its general release. That is a genuine day-one release, but only for the plans Xbox named.

Where can Game Pass members play FH6?
Forza Horizon 6 is a current-generation Xbox and PC release with cloud support. The right plan depends on where you intend to launch it.

Xbox Play Anywhere applies to the Microsoft Store/Xbox ecosystem product, which makes Ultimate useful when you move between a Series console and Xbox-app PC. It does not grant a Steam copy. Cloud play also depends on a supported region, device, and connection, so confirm the Play button on the live FH6 listing.
Can you play Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox One?
There is no native Xbox One version to download. Xbox and Forza consistently list Series X|S, PC, and cloud, while Xbox One is absent from the native FH6 platforms. This differs from Forza Horizon 5, which does have an Xbox One release.
An Xbox One can act as a cloud device where Xbox Cloud Gaming is supported. Ultimate currently includes FH6 for cloud play; Essential or Premium requires a purchased copy for the Store’s supported owned-game streaming route. Streaming is not backward compatibility, and it will not work in every region or network setup.
Which FH6 edition does Game Pass include?

Xbox still labels the two Premium expansions as future-release content on the current landing page. Buy based on what the bundle promises and what is already available, not on an assumed release date. The catalog record remains the base Standard product.
Do purchased FH6 add-ons work after Game Pass ends?
The add-ons stay attached to the account and storefront that sold them, but the Premium Upgrade does not contain FH6 itself. If you cancel Ultimate or PC Game Pass, you lose the subscription base-game license and cannot launch those extras until you renew qualifying access or buy the base game.
This matters most when the upgrade is close to the price of a discounted full edition. Compare the current checkout options and decide whether you are comfortable renting the base game while owning its extras. Review the wider plan value rather than treating the upgrade as permanent FH6 ownership.
Should Essential or Premium members buy FH6 or upgrade Game Pass?
Upgrade to Ultimate if you want FH6 on Xbox now and will use the larger subscription, PC access, or cloud benefits. Buy the game if FH6 is your main priority and you want access that is not tied to its catalog status. PC-only players should compare PC Game Pass with a Windows or Steam purchase instead of paying for console features they will not use.
- Stay on Essential and buy FH6 when you want permanent base-game access plus online console multiplayer.
- Stay on Premium and buy FH6 when you value Premium’s other library titles but do not want Ultimate.
- Move to Ultimate when FH6 is one of several current games you will play on Xbox or cloud.
- Use PC Game Pass when Windows PC is the only platform you need and catalog access suits you.
