Xbox Game Pass added 15 distinct games from June 2 through June 30, 2026. The month included Final Fantasy VI, Jurassic World Evolution 3, three explicit day-one indie launches, EA Play’s EA Sports FC 26, the return of Persona 5 Royal, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and selected Premium upgrades. Five games left June 15 and eight more left June 30.
This completed archive includes the two June 2 entries announced in May Wave 2, then counts Junkster once even though it appeared in both June wave articles. It excludes May-dated “in case you missed it” entries and July 2/6 spillover. Plan and platform labels reflect the US Xbox Wire announcements and do not guarantee current availability.

June Wave 1 additions: June 2–16
June began with two June 2 additions that Xbox previewed in its May 19 Wave 2 post. Final Fantasy VI brought the classic party-based RPG to cloud, Series X|S, and PC, while Jurassic World Evolution 3 offered dinosaur park construction and management across the same platforms. Both were listed for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass. Grouping by availability date—not announcement date—keeps them in June.
Two Premium expansions followed June 4. Herdling brought an atmospheric alpine journey built around guiding and caring for a herd, while Total Chaos offered first-person survival horror, scavenging, crafting, and combat. Xbox described both as “now with Premium” while also listing Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so their significance was broader tier access rather than simultaneous debut everywhere.
June 8 paired the day-one Solarpunk with Undisputed. Solarpunk’s floating-island survival loop supports building, farming, crafting, airship exploration, and play with friends. Undisputed aimed at licensed boxing simulation with a deep career and detailed ring control. Their different labels matter: Solarpunk was an Ultimate/PC day-one launch; Undisputed reached Ultimate, Premium, and PC as a catalog addition.
Persona 5 Royal returned June 9 across cloud, console, and PC for all three catalog-focused plans. Its long turn-based campaign, social schedule, dungeon exploration, and party building made it the month’s largest time commitment. Players starting late in June needed to treat it as a long-term choice rather than a quick sampler.
June 11 supplied three very different smaller games. Beastro combined cozy cooking/life-sim ideas with deckbuilding and puppet-like heroes. Frog Sqwad supported up to eight players in a physics-heavy co-op extraction puzzle-platformer. Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions launched day one in Game Preview, emphasizing cooperative planetary expeditions and a shared space-station crew.
Game Preview is an important qualifier. It means the playable product can evolve, gain features, rebalance, or encounter issues before final release. Subscribers could play Starseeker on June 11, but should not read “day one” as “finished version.”
Junkster closed Wave 1 on June 16 as the third explicit day-one title. The 3D action platformer centers on a construction robot using a wrench, recovering cargo, and repairing a crashed ship. It appeared again as “available today” in Wave 2, so a consolidated June list counts it once. Use the current additions tracker to verify which June games remain active.
June Wave 2 additions: June 17–30
Call of Duty: Vanguard arrived June 17 for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass across cloud, console, and PC. The package spans its World War II campaign, competitive multiplayer, and Zombies content. This was a back-catalog addition, not a new Call of Duty day-one launch. That distinction became more important after Microsoft announced in April that future Call of Duty titles would join around the following holiday season rather than release day.
EA Sports FC 26 followed June 18 through EA Play for Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Delivery through EA Play explains why Premium was not listed even though some other June additions included it. On Windows, EA Play use can require the EA app and a linked EA account; subscribers should not assume the Microsoft Store alone handles every launch. Xbox also paired the addition with a limited Supercharge Pack window and ongoing EA member benefits, which are separate from the base-game license.
Abyssus joined June 25 for Ultimate, Premium, and PC across cloud, Series X|S, and PC. Its one-to-four-player “brinepunk” roguelite FPS format made it the wave’s clearest repeatable co-op action game. Weapon customization, skills, and randomized power growth favor groups willing to replay runs rather than players seeking a single linear campaign.
RV There Yet? closed the actual June additions on June 30 for those same plans and platforms. The cooperative road-trip survival premise asks a group to manage supplies and hazards while escaping a dangerous valley. It was a useful social counterpoint to Persona 5 Royal’s solitary long-form campaign and Vanguard’s competitive multiplayer.
The Wave 2 article continued with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on July 2 and Winds of Arcana: Ruination on July 6. Those were valid “coming soon” announcements on June 16, but neither was available in June. This archive classifies games by the date members could play them, not the date Xbox previewed them.
For later availability, plan changes, and platform filters, check the live Game Pass list. A June 2026 label preserves the history but cannot promise that the same third-party license remains active months later.
Best June games to play first
These recommendations match games to a specific mood and available group; they are editorial choices rather than review-score rankings. Recheck present catalog access before downloading.
Choose Persona 5 Royal for a substantial solo RPG. Turn-based combat, dungeon planning, character relationships, and an in-game calendar reward steady attention. It was the best June choice for someone seeking one long centerpiece, but a poor “quick sample everything” pick. Start it when your queue has space rather than because a monthly list calls it essential.
Choose Solarpunk for creative survival with friends. Building on floating islands, growing food, crafting, and flying an airship make it a calmer cooperative alternative to combat-heavy survival games. Players willing to test an evolving product could instead try Starseeker’s Game Preview expeditions; the preview label sets an expectation of ongoing development.
Choose Abyssus for repeatable four-player action. Its roguelite FPS runs, build variety, and one-to-four-player support suit a regular squad. A larger party could inspect Frog Sqwad, whose official description allows up to eight players and leans into physics comedy and cooperative puzzles. RV There Yet? offers a more deliberately chaotic road-trip problem for a smaller friend group.
Choose Total Chaos for focused horror or Herdling for a quieter atmospheric journey. Their shared June 4 date hides opposite experiences: scavenging and survival fear versus guiding creatures through mountain hazards. That contrast made the first wave useful for discovery rather than only recognizable franchises.
Choose Undisputed or EA Sports FC 26 for sports. Undisputed emphasizes individual boxing control and career progression; FC 26 supplies the wider football ecosystem through EA Play. Call of Duty: Vanguard is the straightforward choice for campaign, multiplayer, or Zombies familiarity, while Junkster and Beastro are smaller genre blends for players who want something new.
PC subscribers should verify launcher requirements and performance before committing. Browse our broader best PC Game Pass games for 2026 when a June title has since left. The best monthly queue normally contains one long anchor, one social game, and one short experiment—not thirteen simultaneous installs.
Games that left Game Pass on June 15
Xbox confirmed five departures for the first June deadline, each listed for cloud, console, and PC:
- Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Lost in Random: The Eternal Die
- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine — Master Crafted Edition
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
The practical choices were different for each. Scott Pilgrim and Shredder’s Revenge were natural group-session candidates; a subscriber could schedule a last co-op night without pretending to complete every goal. Lost in Random: The Eternal Die suited focused repeat runs, while Space Marine offered a direct action campaign. Jurassic World Evolution 2 demanded more appetite for management systems and a longer-term park.
A departure date ends the Game Pass license, not necessarily the store listing. Members could inspect purchase discounts before June 15, but a discount is useful only when the exact edition and platform preserve what they value. DLC ownership alone does not grant the base game. Players moving to Steam or another PC storefront also needed to verify whether the Xbox app save could transfer.
Installed games do not remain playable merely because files stay on the drive. After removal, the user needs a purchased license, another active service that includes the game, or a later Game Pass return. Cloud saves may preserve progress in the Xbox ecosystem, but cross-store portability is title-specific.
Today, this list is historical evidence rather than a warning. Consult the current leaving-soon tracker for active deadlines. A game that left in June 2026 could later return, and a game that stayed then may have departed afterward.
Games that left Game Pass on June 30
The second June deadline removed eight titles:
- Mecha Break — cloud, console, and PC
- Payday 2 — console
- Rise of the Tomb Raider — cloud, console, and PC
- Tomb Raider — cloud, console, and PC
- Slay the Spire — cloud, console, and PC
- Ultimate Chicken Horse — cloud, console, and PC
- Volcano Princess — cloud, console, and PC
- Unpacking — cloud, console, and PC
Payday 2’s console-only label is easy to lose in a copied list. PC players should not infer that a separate PC license left from this announcement. Platform scope belongs beside every removal because the same title can have different catalog records and contracts.
The two Tomb Raider entries invited a campaign-focused choice: continue the story or buy the relevant edition rather than split limited time across both. Slay the Spire’s repeatable deckbuilding could remain compelling indefinitely, which made ownership attractive for an active player. Unpacking was the lower-pressure narrative puzzle option, while Ultimate Chicken Horse was valuable mainly when a local or online group was available.
Mecha Break, Volcano Princess, and Payday 2 served very different audiences; a deadline alone did not make them urgent. The sensible triage was to continue an existing save, schedule one realistic group session, or purchase a genuine keeper. Starting every departing title created downloads rather than finished experiences.
When buying after a departure, check the exact platform, edition, and save path. “Tomb Raider” can refer to multiple releases and bundles, and DLC may be sold separately. Compare the final member offer with authorized-store sales. A Game Pass discount is not automatically the lowest price, and a cheap copy on another launcher may not recognize the same save.
Across June, 13 games left over two deadlines, compared with 15 distinct additions in the completed June 2–30 schedule. That numerical balance does not measure catalog quality; games differ enormously in age, scope, and audience. It does show why an active departure tracker is as important as an additions list.
Trials, benefits, catch-up items and July spillover
Wave 1 announced an EA Sports UFC 6 early-access trial for June 12 on console through EA Play. The trial lasted up to ten hours and could carry progress into a purchase. That is useful member access, but it is not the full game joining the June catalog. Counting trials as complete additions gives readers the wrong purchase expectation.
The same article listed a Rainbow Six Siege Blitz Bushido Set as an in-game benefit. Wave 2 added benefit notices for Goals, Where Winds Meet, and World of Tanks: Modern Armor. These could provide cosmetics, currency, player packs, or other items to eligible members. They may require the base game, a linked account, a supported platform, and a claim window. They do not represent four newly included paid games.
Wave 1’s “In Case You Missed It” section also mentioned Batman: Arkham Knight on PC from May 16 and Escape the Backrooms from May 28. They were relevant reminders in June, not June release dates. A completed monthly archive should preserve that distinction even when the discovery happened after the fact.
Wave 2 crossed the other boundary. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was dated July 2 as a Premium plan change while joining Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and Winds of Arcana: Ruination was dated July 6. They belong to July availability. The publication date—June 16—only indicates when Xbox announced them.
| Item | Correct class | Count in 13 June additions? |
|---|---|---|
| UFC 6 ten-hour access | EA Play trial | No |
| Rainbow Six/Goals/Where Winds Meet/World of Tanks items | In-game benefits | No |
| Batman: Arkham Knight, May 16; Escape the Backrooms, May 28 | May catch-up | No |
| Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, July 2; Winds of Arcana, July 6 | July spillover | No |
Separating categories does not make them less useful. It tells a subscriber what license or item to expect. Check the current plan page because later tiers and benefits may no longer match their June labels.
June 2026 Game Pass FAQ
How many games joined Xbox Game Pass in June 2026?
This archive counts 15 distinct additions dated June 2–30. It includes Final Fantasy VI and Jurassic World Evolution 3 by their June 2 availability date even though Xbox previewed them in May. Junkster appears in both June wave posts but counts once. May-dated catch-up entries, a ten-hour trial, in-game benefits, and July-dated spillover are excluded.
Which June games were day one?
Xbox explicitly labeled Solarpunk, Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, and Junkster as day-one Game Pass releases. Starseeker also carried the Game Preview label, so subscribers entered an evolving pre-release version.
Was EA Sports FC 26 included?
It joined through EA Play on June 18 for Ultimate and PC Game Pass across the listed platforms. On PC, EA Play can require the EA app and a linked EA account. Its membership rewards and limited pack were separate from the base-game access.
Did every June game come to Premium?
No. Herdling and Total Chaos represented Premium expansions, and several established additions also included Premium. The explicit day-one games were listed for Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Plan eligibility must be checked title by title.
What did Game Preview mean for Starseeker?
Members could play the project on June 11, but the version could continue to change before a final release. Features, balance, performance, and content in a Game Preview product should not be treated as finished.
How many games left in June?
Five titles left June 15 and eight left June 30, totaling 13 confirmed removals in the two official wave posts. Payday 2 was specifically listed as a console removal; platform details matter.
Are the June games still available now?
Not necessarily. Third-party licenses rotate and plan access changes by date, region, and platform. Use the current Game Pass additions page and live product listing before subscribing for one game.
Why do June totals differ?
Lists using only June-dated posts can miss Final Fantasy VI and Jurassic World Evolution 3, which were announced in May for June 2. Inflated totals may count Batman: Arkham Knight and Escape the Backrooms from May, the UFC 6 trial, member item bundles, or Tony Hawk and Winds of Arcana with July dates. This page groups entries by actual availability date and full-catalog entitlement.
June 2026 rewarded varied tastes more than one dominant theme: Persona’s long RPG, several cooperative experiments, sports, horror, a returning Call of Duty, and smaller day-one projects. Exact labels make that variety useful instead of turning it into an inflated number.
